Seven Killed in Coordinated Attack on Benue Community

In a tragic incident on Sunday morning, seven people were killed in a coordinated attack on a community in Benue State. The attack occurred around 1 AM, with assailants arriving on motorcycles and opening fire on residents, leading to widespread panic.

Among the victims identified was community leader Joseph Anawah, along with others named Akor, Gwakyaa, Msooter, Aondoungwa, Michael Vershima, Michael Terna, and Michael Msughter Terzungw. Several individuals sustained severe injuries and were taken to medical facilities in Anyiin, with at least seven reported in critical condition and referred to Ugba headquarters for urgent treatment.

Local government chairman Clement Kav confirmed the incident, which has raised fresh fears of violence in the area, prompting residents to flee their homes. The attack is believed to be linked to previous violence in the region, particularly along the Arufu-Wukari road.

The police have been contacted for further developments regarding the incident.
