Seven Killed in Attack on Benue Community Early Sunday

In a tragic incident on Sunday, at least seven individuals were killed during a coordinated attack on the Ukemberagya community in the Tswarev council ward of Logo Local Government Area, Benue State. The attack occurred around 1 AM when armed assailants on motorcycles invaded the settlement, opening fire on residents and causing widespread panic.

Among the deceased were identified victims Akor Gwakyaa, Msooter Gwakyaa, Aondoungwa Michael, Vershima Michael, Terna Michael, and Terzungw, with one victim's name not yet known. Additionally, several others sustained severe injuries and were rushed to medical facilities in Anyiin, with at least seven individuals reported in critical condition and referred to the Ugba headquarters for urgent treatment.

The Chairman of Logo LGA, Clement Kav, confirmed the incident, while the Benue State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Udem Edet, stated that she was not yet aware of the incident.
