Five Travelers Electrocuted in Niger State Incident

On a Monday morning around 7 AM, five travelers were electrocuted in Niger State when their truck, which was loaded with goods, came into contact with a high-tension wire while attempting to dodge a pothole. Mohan Baba, a local resident, reported that this incident is not the first of its kind, as heavy-duty vehicles frequently contact the high-tension lines in the area.

The victims were electrocuted when the wire touched the truck, causing severe injuries. Three other individuals sustained serious burns and were evacuated to a police station in Badeggi.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, represented by Aishat Sa'ad, promised to respond to the incident. The local community has called on the federal government to take swift action to reconstruct the road and address the dangers posed by the power lines to prevent further loss of life.
