Kebbi APC Defends Budget Amid ADC Financial Claims

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has responded to the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) regarding financial claims about the state’s ₦580.33 billion 2025 budget. APC's acting chairman, Adamu Mudi Augi, urged the ADC to concentrate on the tangible projects implemented by Governor Nasir Idris, such as road construction, educational improvements, healthcare upgrades, and agricultural support.

Augi specifically mentioned the dualization of the Birnin Kebbi-Ambursa Road, rehabilitation of schools, establishment of science and skills boarding schools, and the construction of the 250-unit Kauran Gwandu Housing Estate. The state government has rejected allegations of financial mismanagement, clarifying that the discrepancies in revenue were due to unrealized funds rather than missing money.

The government spent nearly ₦240 billion in the year, with over ₦152 billion allocated to capital projects. Augi challenged the ADC to evaluate the administration based on its performance and the visible impact of its programs.
