Olu of Warri Advocates Unity and Cultural Renewal

His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, marked the fifth anniversary of his coronation at Aghofen in Warri, where he urged Nigerians, including his subjects, to embrace unity and rethink outdated approaches. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including government officials, traditional rulers, and military commanders.

Atuwatse III acknowledged the presence of traditional rulers from various regions, including the Emir of Zazzau, who represented the Sultan, and the Emir of Kano from the North, as well as monarchs from the South-west and East. He emphasized that the traditional institution should transcend ceremonial roles to become a force for unity and development.

The Olu called for Itsekiris to overcome past differences and build bridges for future unity, stating that the strength of a community lies in its ability to inspire and empower its members. He also highlighted the need for a mindset change regarding culture and tradition, advocating for the adaptation of inherited practices to meet future demands.
