Olu of Warri Celebrates Fifth Coronation Anniversary

On Friday, dignitaries gathered in Warri to celebrate the fifth coronation anniversary of Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III. Notable attendees included Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and traditional rulers such as the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I.

The event, themed “Global Homecoming: Celebrating Our Cultural Renaissance, Unity and Transformational Progress,” took place at the royal court of the Olu of Warri Palace. Governor Oborevwori praised the Olu for his leadership and contributions to Warri's development, urging the local populace to maintain peace and unity among ethnic groups.

He commended the Iwere nation for their homage to the Olu and highlighted the importance of avoiding divisive tendencies. The governor also acknowledged the Olu's endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and himself for a second term, marking it as a significant decision for the state.
