Pentagon Reports 624 US Troops Wounded in Iran Conflict

The latest update from the US Department of Defense revealed that 624 service members have sustained injuries since the conflict with Iran began after President Donald Trump ordered strikes against the country. Of the wounded, 417 were recorded under Operation Epic Fury, while 207 were categorized under a new classification called Overseas Operations.

The Pentagon also revised its fatality records, reducing deaths attributed to Operation Epic Fury from 18 to 14, with four personnel reassigned to the Overseas Operations category. The revisions have faced criticism from military observers and members of Congress, including Retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges and Congressman Thomas Massie, who questioned the separation of casualties into different operational categories.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell attributed the changes to “temporary data disruptions” and stated they were being corrected in collaboration with military branches. The update follows renewed military exchanges after a ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran began to collapse in mid-July.
