Iran Condemns U.S. Strike on Wedding, 68 Civilians Affected

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned an alleged United States military strike on a wedding ceremony in Bandar Kuhestak, Sirik County, southern Iran, which reportedly occurred on September 1. The embassy stated that the attack resulted in 68 civilians being killed or injured, including women and children.

It characterized the victims as ordinary people with no military involvement and questioned the justification for the U.S. military action against a civilian gathering. The Iranian government linked this incident to a previous U.S. attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, which also reportedly involved U.S. missiles and resulted in civilian casualties.

The embassy invoked international law, asserting that Iran did not initiate the aggression and emphasized the importance of protecting civilians under international humanitarian law. It urged the international community to prevent the normalization of civilian deaths in Iran and highlighted the value of every human life.
