Police Kill 7 Bandits in Bauchi; Soldiers and Vigilante Die

In Bauchi State, police engaged in a gun battle with bandits, resulting in the deaths of seven assailants. The encounter occurred in Gwana District, Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Unfortunately, two soldiers from the 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army and one vigilante lost their lives during this operation. The police command, represented by SP Nafiu Habib, issued a statement confirming the incident and detailing the ongoing efforts of the anti-kidnap unit to combat banditry in the region.

Additionally, three community members were reported abducted by the assailants. The Commissioner of Police, Mr.

Sani Omolori Aliyu, assured the public of enhanced security measures, including the deployment of additional forces to restore order, protect displaced civilians, and prevent further attacks. The police are actively monitoring the situation to track and arrest fleeing assailants and rescue victims.
