ExxonMobil Celebrates 20 Years of Erha Oil Field Success

Jagir Baxi, representing ExxonMobil, reflects on the 20-year operational milestone of the Erha oil field, which commenced production on March 27. The field has produced approximately 800 million barrels of oil, significantly contributing to Nigeria's economy.

Baxi highlights the importance of collaboration with stakeholders, including NNPC Ltd, NCDMB, and NUPrC, to enhance resource recovery and investment in the OML 138 block. He mentions plans for new seismic acquisitions and drilling campaigns aimed at maximizing existing infrastructure and resources.

Baxi expresses excitement about upcoming investments, with a total campaign worth over one billion dollars, of which 30 percent is already committed. He emphasizes the need for continuous deepwater drilling and the importance of keeping drilling assets active to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.

The strategic focus is on creating long-term investment opportunities and ensuring that the Erha field remains a vital part of Nigeria's oil production landscape.
