Makinde Denies Plot to Dethrone Olubadan of Ibadanland

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde responded to allegations regarding a supposed plot to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland, which were made by former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose on social media. Makinde, alongside Rashidi Ladoja, rejected these claims, asserting that there is no basis for the allegations.

The governor emphasized that there is no conflict between the traditional ruler and the state government, and he insisted that nothing has occurred to suggest any plan to remove the monarch. Oyo State Commissioner for Information also reacted, stating that the government has not discussed or considered any plans regarding the Olubadan's position.

The governor described the claims as part of false political discourse intended to create confusion among the populace.
