NDLEA Arrests 80 Suspects in Kano Drug Raids

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, conducted "Operation Restore Order," resulting in the arrest of 80 suspected drug offenders and the dismantling of 16 notorious drug joints across Kano State. This operation, which took place from August 10 to August 16, 2026, aimed to disrupt drug trafficking and abuse in local communities.

Sadiq Maigatari, the command’s Media and Advocacy Officer, stated that the operation utilized a “dislodge-and-occupy” strategy to dismantle identified drug hubs and prevent their resurgence. The raids targeted hotspots for drug trafficking, including areas such as Filin Mahaha, Koki, and Dorayi.

During the operation, various illicit substances, including Cannabis sativa, Diazepam, and locally produced drugs known as “Suck and Die,” were recovered, along with cutting agents and packaging materials. Additionally, locally manufactured weapons and tools used in the drug trade were seized.

The NDLEA emphasized that the operation was intelligence-led and would continue to adapt based on emerging intelligence.
