81 Division Inter Command Secondary Schools Sports Competition Kicks Off in Lagos

The 81 Division Inter Command Secondary Schools Sports Competition began in Lagos, aiming to promote character development and leadership skills among students through sports. The event was inaugurated by Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 81 Division Nigerian Army.

General Tukur Yusuf Buratai declared the competition open at the Lagbaja Canton in Ikeja. Brigadier General AO Owolabi highlighted the significance of sports in education, emphasizing the values of discipline, resilience, and teamwork.

Colonel OA Olubo described the competition as a flagship event to foster unity and talent discovery among students. The event featured a march past, student oath-taking, and the lighting of the unity torch.

Notable attendees included Lieutenant Colonel UI Jafaru from the Nigerian Army Library Services. The competition aimed to go beyond mere medals, focusing on building enduring character qualities in participants.
