Army and Navy Strengthen Collaboration in Lagos Visit

On Thursday, Major General AA Babalola, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, visited the headquarters of the Western Naval Command in Apapa, Lagos. The purpose of this courtesy visit was to renew efforts in deepening inter-service collaboration and operational synergy between the Army and Navy.

During the visit, Major General Babalola received Rear Admiral AA Mustapha, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command, along with senior officers from the command. Major General Babalola commended the Western Naval Command for its sustained efforts in safeguarding Nigeria's maritime domain, particularly in combating sea robbery, crude oil theft, and other maritime crimes that threaten the nation's economic stability and security.

Rear Admiral Mustapha expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a significant step toward reinforcing joint operations. The discussions emphasized the importance of improving intelligence sharing, coordinating patrols, and strengthening the framework for joint operations to effectively tackle criminal networks operating across coastal and inland corridors.
