Newlywed Couple Abducted in Kogi State While Traveling

A newlywed couple was abducted on Saturday evening while traveling with four other passengers along the Iyemero–Eruku route in Kogi State. Initially reported to have occurred in Kwara State, Mr Dada Sunday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti local government chairman in Kwara State, confirmed the incident's actual location to Daily Trust.

The couple was returning from an event in the council, with the bride believed to be from Eruku in Ekiti, Kwara State, where their engagement ceremony took place. The vehicle was supposed to take the Isanlu Road, but the driver chose an alternative route to drop off the best man and other passengers in Iyamoye.

Armed assailants intercepted the vehicle, leading to the couple and the other occupants being abducted. As of the report, the whereabouts of the four other passengers remained unclear, and security agencies are actively working to locate the victims and secure their safe release.
