The kidnappers contacted a family member of one victim, demanding N20 million for each abductee.
Mrs. Achenetu Akubo, sister of one of the kidnapped individuals, revealed that her sister Mariam and her daughter were among those taken, with a ransom of N40 million demanded for their release. She expressed concern for her sister's health, noting that she did not have her medication with her.
