Tinubu's Govt Distributes N25,000 to 8.5m Poor Households

Minister of Finance Wale Edun disclosed that 8.5 million poor households have each received N25,000 under Bola Tinubu's government's conditional cash transfer program, totaling N330 billion disbursed. The program aims to support 15 million poor households with three installments.

Despite initial challenges, including linking National Identity Numbers (NIN) to bank accounts, over half of the targeted households have received payments. Edun clarified that the intervention is part of the government's efforts to alleviate poverty and provide financial assistance to vulnerable households, with plans to complete payments to all beneficiaries by the end of the year.
