Nine Inmates Memorize Qur'an at Kano Custodial Centre

Nine inmates at the Kofar Nasarawa Custodial Centre in Kano have completed the memorization of the entire Qur'an, a notable milestone celebrated by the Nigerian Correctional Service. This achievement was highlighted during the 50th anniversary of the Kano State Command's public relations office.

The inmates, who had little to no prior knowledge of full Qur'anic recitation upon their arrival, benefited from a dedicated and structured guidance program aimed at discipline and moral development. The initiative aligns with the Nigerian Correctional Service Act of 2019, which emphasizes reform and rehabilitation.

Ahm Yusuf Lakpen, the Controller of the Kano State Command, commended the efforts to promote educational and vocational training across custodial centers nationwide. Ibrahim Wada Ibrahim, the officer in charge of the Wudil Custodial Centre, expressed appreciation for the support from the state command, while Prof.

Musa Tukur Yakasai, Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, praised the transformative impact of the program on the inmates' lives.
