NFL Teams Honor 9/11 Victims in 25th Anniversary Season

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, all 32 NFL teams will participate in special tributes during the first week of the NFL’s new season. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated the importance of honoring the memory of those lost and the heroes who inspired the nation.

Game-day activities will include stenciling "Never Forget" in the end zones, officials wearing 9/11 tribute coins during pregame tosses, and players and coaches donning commemorative caps and shirts during warm-ups. The tribute will extend internationally, with the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia featuring American and Australian service members leading some ceremonies.

Additionally, NYPD officers will be honored during the Giants and Cowboys game. The tribute coins will support the NFL’s 9/11 charities, emphasizing service and unity throughout the events.
