Abubakar Malami and Son Seek Bail in ₦9bn Corruption Case

Abubakar Malami and his son, Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami, are facing allegations of ₦9 billion corruption charges brought by the EFCC. The court session in the Federal High Court in Abuja involved arguments for bail presented by their defense counsel, Joseph Daudu.

The defense argued that the charges of money laundering were bailable offenses and requested the court to grant bail. The EFCC opposed the oral bail application, emphasizing the need for a formal written application.

The presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, rejected the oral application and directed the defense to file a formal written bail argument for further consideration.
