Team Edo Dominates 9th NYG Weightlifting, Clinches Overall Championship

Team Edo dominated the weightlifting events at the ongoing 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, clinching the overall championship with an impressive haul of 9 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. They outclassed their rivals, with Team Akwa Ibom coming in second and Team Abia in third place.

In the women's weight classes, Edo swept all nine gold medals, while Akwa Ibom shone in the men's division. Notable individual performances included Favour Cornelius, Esther Amarachi Chijoke, and Beauty Akpore for Edo, and Destiny Okon Bassey and Goodness Samuel Okon for Akwa Ibom.

The competition showcased Edo's strength and talent in weightlifting.
