All Set for 9th National Youth Games as Zonal Elimination Ends

The 9th National Youth Games are set to take place in Asaba, Delta State from August 26 to September 6, following the conclusion of the zonal elimination rounds. Various sports were contested during the South-South zonal elimination in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on August 15, including Abula, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Handball, Hockey, Rugby7, and Volleyball.

A significant number of athletes and officials are expected to participate in the upcoming games. The Local Organising Committee, led by former Director General of Delta Sports Commission Festus Ohwojero, is working diligently to ensure a successful championship.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is keen on seeing a smooth and perfectly organized event, believing that Nigerian youth deserve the best. Team Delta has been a dominant force in the National Youth Games since its inception in 2015, and preparations are underway for the 2025 edition.
