Dalhatu Wins Kano PDP Governorship Ticket, Defeating Abacha

In the recent People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election held in Kano State, Mohammad Dalhatu was declared the winner, securing 2,233 votes. He defeated Mohab Abacha, the eldest son of the late General Sani Abacha, who received 749 votes.

The results were announced by Umar Hadejia, the chairman of the PDP Kano State governorship primary election committee, who stated that the election was conducted peacefully and in accordance with the party's electoral guidelines. Hadejia commended the aspirants, delegates, and security agencies for their cooperation throughout the exercise.

This victory marks a significant moment for Dalhatu, especially considering Abacha's previous attempts to secure the party's ticket in 2023, where he lost to Sadiq Aminu Wali and engaged in legal battles against a parallel faction of the party during the 2019 governorship election in Kano State.
