Abbas Jimoh Appointed NSCIA Spokesperson in Nigeria

Abbas Jimoh has been appointed as the spokesperson for the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). Previously, he worked for 20 years at Daily Trust, covering various beats including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and political parties.

Jimoh has earned a fellowship from the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa and is a fellow of the MTN Nigeria Media Innovation Program. He described his new role as an opportunity to serve the Nigerian Muslim community and acknowledged the significant responsibility it entails.

The NSCIA, established in 1973, is the apex Islamic authority in Nigeria, tasked with preserving, protecting, promoting, and advancing the interests of Islam and Muslims throughout the country. Jimoh aims to strengthen advocacy and cohesion among Muslim countries and contribute to national development.
