Benue Doctor Ogbaji Arrested by Police Amid Investigation

A doctor, identified as Ogbaji and the owner of a hospital in Makurdi, was reported to have been abducted from his hospital premises located in Ankpa Quarters. His daughter raised the alarm after he was allegedly taken away by individuals in a Toyota Sienna vehicle.

The family searched various police stations in Makurdi to locate him but were unsuccessful. Later, they received information suggesting that he was taken by police operatives from Abuja, although the reason for his arrest was unclear.

DSP Peter Aondongu, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Benue command, confirmed that the doctor was not abducted but was arrested by a special squad from the Force Intelligence Department in connection with an ongoing investigation. He urged the media and public to disregard the abduction claims as false, stating that the specific circumstances of the investigation remain unknown.
