Two Kidnappers Arrested While Chasing Escapee in Benue

On Friday, Mrs Ekuma was among five individuals abducted while returning from Idelle Market in Oju LGA, Benue State. She managed to escape from the kidnappers’ hideout located in a forest around Utonkon district of Ado LGA.

After her escape, she raised the alarm, leading to an operation by the Benue State Civil Protection Guard (CPG), Ado Command. Chief Joseph Har, the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Security and Internal Affairs, reported that two suspected members of the kidnapping gang, identified as Usman Shuaibu and Aliyu Drahu, were arrested while pursuing Ekuma after realizing she had escaped.

The suspects were initially taken to the CPG zonal headquarters in Otukpo before being transferred to the Otukpo Police Division for further investigation and legal action. This operation is part of ongoing efforts by security operatives to dismantle kidnapping networks and enhance the safety of residents in affected communities.
