Benue Police Rescue 18 Kidnapped Victims, Arrest 20 Suspects

The Benue State Police Command has successfully rescued 18 kidnapped victims, arrested 20 suspects, and recovered three AK-47 rifles as part of its recent operations. Commissioner of Police, CP Cletus C.N.
Nwadiogbu, announced these achievements during a press briefing in Makurdi on Tuesday. The police rescued 13 victims in Otukpo Local Government Area following sustained search operations in the Amla-Icho Forest, where one suspected armed bandit was neutralized and an AK-47 rifle was recovered.
In Logo Local Government Area, two armed suspects were neutralized, leading to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and ammunition. Additionally, police foiled an armed robbery attempt in Gwer-East and recovered a stolen one-day-old baby in Gboko, arresting 11 suspects connected to the incident.
The Command also dismantled a vehicle and motorcycle theft syndicate in Dan-Anacha, Taraba State, arresting five suspects and recovering two Bajaj motorcycles and a Toyota Corolla. Nwadiogbu warned criminals that Benue would not be a safe haven for illegal activities.
