Delta Police Rescue Abducted Woman, Arrest Suspect

On March 19, 2026, the Delta State Police Command's Special Anti-Kidnap Cyber Crime Squad successfully rescued a 27-year-old woman who had been abducted on March 12, 2026. The operation was initiated after credible intelligence indicated that the victim was being held at a building site near the Obosi River, along the Ibusa-Ogwashi-Uku road.

The police, under the direction of Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola, acted promptly to ensure the victim's safe recovery. During the operation, the kidnappers opened fire, but the police responded with superior firepower, leading to the suspects fleeing and abandoning the victim.

The rescued woman was subsequently taken to a general hospital for medical attention. Efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
