Delta Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims, Kill Suspect

On March 16, 2026, the Delta State Police Command executed a successful operation that resulted in the death of one kidnapper and the rescue of three victims. Following a report of kidnapping in the Issel Uku division, CSP Aderemi Badiru collaborated with military forces and local vigilante groups to launch a coordinated search and rescue operation.

The operation led to an intense exchange of gunfire with the kidnapping syndicate, resulting in one suspect being fatally wounded. The three victims were rescued unharmed and safely reunited with their families.

SP Bright Edaf, the police public relations officer, disclosed that further combing of the surrounding forest led to the arrest of Ahmadu Hassan, who sustained gunshot injuries during the operation. An AK-47 rifle and four rounds of live ammunition were recovered.

The suspect was confirmed dead, and efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate. CP Aina Adesola commended the collaborative efforts in dismantling criminal networks in the state.
