Abducted Ex-Customs Officer Freed in Osun After Collective Efforts

Emmanuel Owolabi, a retired personnel of the Nigerian Customs Service, was kidnapped in December 2025 in Ora Town, Ifedayo Local Government Council, Osun State. He regained freedom without any disclosed ransom reportedly paid to the captors.

Dr. Yemi Farounbi, a former Nigerian ambassador, commended the Osun State government, Governor Ademola Adeleke, security agencies, traditional rulers, and the community for their support during Owolabi's captivity.

The victim was freed in a forest around Oro Ago community in Kwara State. The incident highlighted the importance of security measures and collective efforts in safeguarding lives and properties.
