Oyo Governor Makinde Assures Safe Return of Abducted Pupils

On Tuesday, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State addressed protesters at the state secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, regarding the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriir Local Government Area. He met with representatives from the Nigerian Students Association, Nigeria Union of Teachers, and Nigeria Labour Congress, who expressed concerns over the safety of the abducted individuals.

Governor Makinde assured the group that the government is actively working with various security agencies to ensure the safe return of the victims. He emphasized that the safety and welfare of residents remain a priority for his administration.

The governor also welcomed suggestions for improving security measures in response to the abduction, which has raised significant concern across the state. The incident has prompted labor unions and student groups to demand urgent action for the safe release of the abducted individuals.
