Makinde Restricts Night Motorcycle Operations in Oyo

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde announced a restriction on motorcycle operations across the state from 10:30 PM to 5:30 AM as part of efforts to address growing security concerns. This directive was issued on a Friday and is aimed at combating criminal activities, particularly following the abduction of a teacher and no fewer than 45 pupils from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area on May 15.

The governor reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring the safe return of the victims and emphasized the pain and anxiety experienced by their families. He assured residents that security agencies are working tirelessly to secure the victims' freedom and described the ongoing situation as a difficult challenge for the government.

Makinde requested the public not to mistake silence for inaction, stating that significant efforts are being made behind the scenes to resolve the situation. He called for cooperation and understanding from residents and expressed confidence that ongoing security operations would yield positive results.
