Ekiti Kidnappers Lower Ransom to N150 Million

Six days after the abduction of 16 worshippers in Ekiti, the kidnappers have reduced their ransom demand to N150 million. Dr.

Rufu Ajayi, the chairman of the Progress Union, spoke on behalf of the victims, who include women and young children. The captors initially demanded a higher ransom, but the community has rejected this offer and is appealing to the government for assistance.

Deputy Governor Monisad Afuy has been informed of the situation, and traditional ruler Oba Julius Awolola emphasized the need for prompt government intervention to address the increasing spate of kidnappings and killings in the community. He described the attack as deeply traumatic and commended the state government for its sympathy during this period.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji condemned the act of terror and assured residents that comprehensive measures would be implemented to safeguard lives and property, urging the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
