Ekiti Government Intensifies Rescue Efforts After Abductions

In response to a recent bandit attack in Eda Oniyo, Ilejemeje Local Government Area, Ekiti State, where nineteen individuals were abducted, including sixteen women and two toddlers, the local government and police have ramped up rescue efforts. The attack, which resulted in the death of a pastor, has led to the closure of several churches in the community, including Christ Apostolic Church, Anglican Church, Deeper Life Bible Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Hope Life, and Cherubim and Seraphim Assembly of God Church, as residents mourn the loss and express solidarity with the affected families.

The police, led by Falad Michael, have conducted assessments and assured residents of intensified operations to track down the perpetrators and rescue the victims. The Ekiti State government has also visited the community to commiserate with the people, evaluate the security situation, and urge residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
