Oyebanji Urges Vigilance After Ekiti Church Attack

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has called for heightened vigilance among residents following the recent attack on the Christ Apostolic Church in Eda Oniyo, where 16 worshippers were abducted. The incident, which occurred last week, also resulted in the death of the church's pastor.

During a sympathy visit to the community, Governor Oyebanji emphasized the need for collaboration with security agencies to prevent criminal influx and ensure the safety of residents. He assured that efforts are underway to rescue the abducted victims, with security agencies already conducting full-scale surveillance operations in the area.

Oyebanji expressed his sorrow over the incident and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to safeguarding lives and properties across the state. He warned against internal collaboration with criminal elements that could lead to further attacks and advised residents to suspend night activities temporarily for safety.

Traditional ruler Oba Julius Awolola and Dr. Rufu Ajayi, chairman of the Eda Oniyo Progress Union, also called for stronger security measures and the establishment of a military post to prevent future incidents.
