Kwara Worshippers' Ransom Reduced to N150 Million

The abduction of worshippers from the Evangel Church West Africa in Omugo Community, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, has led to a ransom demand reduction from N1 billion to N150 million. This announcement was made by Jimoh Olaitan, a spokesperson for concerned residents, during a press briefing in Ilorin.

The victims were abducted on March 22 during a church service, causing significant fear and distress within the community. Olaitan emphasized that the revised ransom is still beyond what the families can afford, leaving them in a state of deep distress.

The situation has deteriorated, forcing many residents to flee their homes due to fears of further attacks. Olaitan criticized the absence of security personnel in the area, calling for urgent intervention from both the federal and Kwara state governments to facilitate the rescue of the abducted worshippers.

He urged for the establishment of a permanent joint task force to enhance security and prevent future incidents.
