Kidnappers Release Nine in Kwara, Abduct Ten More

In Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, nine victims were released by kidnappers after a ransom of N40 million was reportedly paid. The release occurred on Thursday night, following the abduction of the victims earlier in the week.

The kidnappers had invaded the community of Adanla, where they took the victims, including Clement Emmanuel, an apprentice, and Solomon, who was kidnapped while working in a tree farm. The police, led by Kwara State Commissioner of Police Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the abduction of another ten individuals in the Oro Ago area shortly after the release of the first group.

The police conducted a joint intelligence-led operation that resulted in the arrest of ten suspects linked to the kidnapping syndicate. Additionally, there were reports of a bandit attack in Eruku, which was repelled by local vigilantes.

The situation remains tense as the community grapples with ongoing security challenges.
