AbdulRazaq Denies Endorsing Danladi for 2027 Successor

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has publicly denied reports suggesting he endorsed Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi as his preferred successor for the 2027 governorship election. This denial follows claims circulating on social media that the governor privately submitted Danladi's name to President Bola Tinubu.

AbdulRazaq's special adviser on media, Bashir Adigun, labeled the reports as false and malicious, asserting they were attempts to blackmail the governor. He urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State to disregard these claims and emphasized that aspirants are free to pursue their ambitions within the party.

The governor maintained that no endorsements have been made and that the party will adopt an open, merit-based process for selecting candidates. The situation has reportedly caused tension within the ruling party, with concerns about transparency in the selection process being raised among aspirants.
