Abia ADC Chairman Obinna Vows to Unseat Otti in 2027

Don Norman Obinna has successfully retained his position as the state chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State. He made a commitment to unseat Governor Alex Otti in the upcoming 2027 governorship election.

This development follows a state congress held in Umuahia, organized by the ADC congress committee led by Chioma Cynthia Ladeind, where Agodi Kanu was elected as secretary, and Naomi Nwogu and Gold Mbamaghionyeukwu were appointed as state woman leader and deputy woman leader, respectively. The congress was conducted in accordance with a judgment from the Federal High Court in Abuja, which clarified the conduct of the party congress under Article 17 of the ADC constitution.

The congress began on a Thursday, with the state congress taking place on a Friday, affirming Obinna's return as chairman. The ADC has stated that there are no factions within the party in the state.
