ADC Elects Kalu Agu as New Chairman in Abia State

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) held its state congress in Umuahia, Abia State, on Saturday, where Kalu Agu was elected as the new state chairman. The election also saw Obinna Okei appointed as the deputy state chairman, Mr.

Uwaoma Olenwengwa as the secretary, and Mr. Francess Ogbonnaya as the state public secretary, among other officials.

The election was conducted via a voice vote following a motion moved by Longman Nwachukwu and seconded by Uchenna Okogbu. Kalu Agu expressed the party's determination to win the upcoming 2027 general elections and emphasized the importance of reconciling aggrieved members to foster unity within the party.

He stated that genuine peace and forgiveness would be sought to bring members back to the fold. Fredrick Onw, the chairman of the congress committee, conducted the election in line with the party's constitutional guidelines and expressed confidence in the party's growth in Abia State.

The ADC condemned actions by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against its national leadership.
