Abia ADC Chairman Confirms No Involvement in April Congresses

The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of Chairman Don Norman Obinna, has officially stated that it will not be involved in the upcoming ward and local government congresses scheduled for April 7-14, 2026. This announcement was made in a public statement sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and is a response to a recent court ruling that upheld the status quo regarding the party's internal governance.

The ruling instructed the ADC's state office not to oversee the congresses, which are typically organized at the national convention level. Obinna emphasized the importance of party members and stakeholders remaining calm and promoting a constructive message during this period.

He assured members that efforts are ongoing to revitalize the party and restore normalcy within the Abia ADC, promising further updates on developments.
