Abia APC Elects Chijiok Chukwu as New Chairman

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Chijiok Chukwu as its new state chairman during a state congress held on Tuesday. The congress, which was conducted through consensus, was overseen by Emmanuel Goar, the chairman of the state congress committee.

Key figures such as Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and local organizing committee head Mark Wabara contributed to ensuring a seamless process. The congress structure included four committees to ensure credible outcomes.

APC's National Welfare Secretary, Donatus Nwankpa, expressed confidence that the party would reclaim the government house in 2027, supported by notable party members including Senator Orji Kalu and Nkeiru Onyejeocha. Chukwu pledged to run an inclusive administration and strengthen party structures ahead of the elections, emphasizing unity and discipline within the party.

The congress marked a significant phase in the party's administration, aiming for overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming elections.
