Abia State to Expand Land for Nigerian Air Force Training

On Tuesday, Abia State Governor Alex Otti reaffirmed the state's commitment to strengthening security through collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force. During a meeting with a delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Kehind, Otti assured that the state government would allocate additional land for establishing a special forces training center at the proposed Abia Airport site.

The governor disclosed plans to increase the previously allocated 50 hectares to at least 100 hectares to support this initiative. He committed to working with a team to ensure the land is granted and certified for occupation within 30 days.

Otti also mentioned ongoing construction of an office complex for the Nigerian Air Force in Umuahia, expected to be completed by the end of April. Air Vice Marshal Kehind commended the proactive efforts of the Abia State government in enhancing security and indicated the Chief of Air Staff's interest in expanding the Air Force's presence in the state, particularly at the airport site.
