Cleric Urges Support for Kalu in Abia North Senate Race

Reverend Samson Okoro Elekwa, a Baptist cleric, has called on Labour Party candidate David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex and Uko Nkole of the NDC to step down and endorse Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Abia North senatorial seat. Elekwa praised Kalu's record of representation and development in Abia North, emphasizing the need to build on his achievements rather than seek change.

He highlighted Kalu's contributions to road construction, education, and human capital development, criticizing Bourdex's candidacy as clannish politics. Elekwa referenced controversies from Bourdex's tenure as caretaker chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area.

He argued that Kalu's long-standing service and development initiatives warrant his continued representation, citing specific projects in communities such as Ndi Orieke and Amannagwu. Elekwa described Kalu as "Abia’s greatest gift from God" and noted that his infrastructure projects have significantly benefited local farmers, traders, and transporters.
