Abia Govt Urges Doctors to Treat Emergency Patients First

The Abia State government has issued a caution to medical personnel, including doctors and nurses, against rejecting emergency patients based on their inability to pay upfront. This warning was highlighted during an ongoing training program organized by the Abia State government in Umuahia.

Dr. Nnenna Ihekoromadu, Chief Executive Officer of Quantu Medic Foundation, criticized the poor relationship between patients and medical staff in Nigeria, stressing that sick individuals in hospitals deserve respect and compassionate care.

She noted that it is unacceptable to abandon patients in emergency situations due to financial constraints, urging that treatment should commence to stabilize patients before discussing payment. Dr.
