Abia Labour Party Elects New Chairman Peter Azubuik

The Labour Party in Abia State held a state congress on Saturday in Umuahia, where Mr. Peter Azubuik was elected as the new state chairman.

The congress adopted a consensus method for the election, which included Mr. Chuck Akamadu as a member of the state working committee and Mr.

Emenik Iroegbu as the public secretary. Governor Alex Otti commended the smooth conduct of the congress and promised support for the incoming leadership.

He congratulated the newly elected executive members and emphasized the importance of unity and organization within the party. Azubuik vowed to strengthen the party across the state and acknowledged the leadership of Governor Otti, who won the election in 2023.

He called for continued support for the party and its role in the upcoming political landscape, particularly looking ahead to the 2027 elections.
