Abia Monarchs Urge Peace and Zoning Compliance

During a community meeting held at the palace of Royal Majesty Ez Iheanyichukwu Abel Ezeigbo, traditional rulers from the Ohuhu Clan in Abia State urged stakeholders to adhere strictly to existing zoning arrangements. They warned that political agitation in the Ikwuano Umuahia North and Umuahia South areas could lead to tensions if not carefully managed.

The traditional rulers, speaking on behalf of the Ohuhu Traditional Ruler Council, emphasized the need to preserve peace and uphold a long-standing agreement that guides the rotation of the federal constituency seat. This agreement, established decades ago, ensures that the bloc occupies House of Representatives positions for two tenures.

HRH Ez Ben Oriaku reiterated the importance of equity and justice in the agreement, while HRH Ez Paul C. Egwu Dike Ukwu described the appeal for unity as timely.

The monarchs collectively warned against actions that could incite violence and stressed the need for political maturity to maintain peace in the region.
