Abia PDP Candidate Critiques Motorcycle Ban, Promises Welfare

Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the governorship candidate for the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, criticized the state government's ban on commercial motorcycles, stating it was implemented without providing alternative means of livelihood for operators. Anosike emphasized that under a PDP administration, policies would prioritize the welfare of the people, arguing that the ban risks pushing individuals into poverty.

He addressed journalists in Umuahia, highlighting the need for a holistic approach to governance that goes beyond infrastructure development. Anosike also pointed out the mismanagement of funds in Abia State and promised to revitalize the local economy by reopening shut-down cottage industries.

He proposed a total overhaul of the salary structure across local government areas and emphasized the importance of local government autonomy. Anosike's campaign aims to reflect the character of leadership that prioritizes the people's welfare, contrasting with the current administration led by Dr. Alex Otti.
