PDP Candidate Anosik Critiques Otti's Policies in Abia

Kelechi Anosik, the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 Abia State elections, criticized the administration of Governor Alex Otti during a press conference at the PDP state secretariat in Umuahia on Thursday. Anosik claimed that Otti's policies have not positively impacted the welfare of ordinary citizens, particularly civil servants, traders, and transport workers.

He argued that the government has neglected these groups and focused on infrastructure development at the expense of cottage industries and pension issues. Anosik stated that approximately 10,000 civil servants have been unjustly retired, with many not receiving their salaries in accordance with the National Labour Congress (NLC) minimum wage agreement.

He also mentioned the recent ban on commercial motorcycle operations in Aba, which he described as lacking a human face. Anosik promised to review local government funding and ensure proper utilization of resources, as well as install digital security measures to monitor movements in the state.
