PDP Candidate Anosike Unveils Rural Development Agenda

Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Abia State in the 2027 general elections, has articulated his plans to strengthen local government and rural security.

He announced the establishment of the Abia Rural Development Agency (ARDA), which will focus on integrated rural development across the state. Anosike emphasized that rural development cannot occur in an atmosphere of insecurity, as it deters investment and agricultural activities.

His administration aims to implement a comprehensive rural security strategy to restore confidence and protect lives and properties, thereby creating a safe environment for economic activities across the 17 local government areas of Abia State. He plans to collaborate with security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to enhance local security architecture.

Additionally, Anosike intends to construct and rehabilitate major rural roads annually to improve access to markets and essential services, ensuring that rural communities receive equitable development compared to urban centers.
